By tapping the R1 trigger, you go into super hearing mode, which will apparently be used to seek out enemies in later areas. Other areas of the game will make use of Atom's super hearing ability. The game also includes some notion of Atom's limited energy supply - you have to move away fro the enemy and let yourself recharge occasionally. Atom can pick up cars and throw them, and can fly around at will, speeding away from enemy attacks. The game gives a good sense of Atom's strength and his many abilities. Finally, the X button is used for jumping and for doing a super dash when in the air. The Square button is referred to as the "action" button, and can be used to do a punch combo and pick things up. Atom's attacks are achieved with the face buttons, with circle used for his finger beam and triangle used for his arm cannon. The right thumb pad is used to lift Atom into the air and back down to the ground. You use the left analogue thumb pad to move Atom around.

Once the tenaticles are defeated, Professor Ochanomizu is set free from a giant robotic beast who emerges to battle Atom.Ĭontrols for the game take some getting used to.

We got to sample an early playable build which takes place on a bridge and has Atom fighting robotic tentacles that emerge from the ground. The game itself takes the form mostly of an action title.

The trailer we saw hinted at other rival robots that fans will surely recognize. While little has been revealed on the game's story, it's known that key enemies such as Atom's nemesis Atlus will make an appearance.
